Following on from last year’s popular cress egg heads, this year we thought it would be fun to try a different Easter craft and make some Easter chicks.
These cute little chicks made from pom-poms are easy to make and the children will love them. All you need to do is make a simple pom pom using yellow wool and stick on some googly eyes and a beak, and there you have it, a fun Easter Chick!
You will need…
- Wool
- Googly Eyes
- Red/Orange foam, felt or cardboard for the beak
- Two Cardboard Circles
- Glue
- Scissors
Holding the 2 cardboard circles together, wrap the wool around the circles until completely covered.
Insert the scissors between the cardboard circles and cut the wool. Do this carefully so the pom pom doesn’t fall apart.
Once cut all the way around, tie a length of wool in between the cardboard circles to tie the pom pom in place. Once you are satisfied that the pom pom is secure remove the cardboard circles.
Stick on the googly eyes and the beak.
And here’s a little video of how we made the Pom Pom Easter Chicks
